Las Tres Américas was an original children’s musical in Spanish and English composed by Norma Brooks, Cecilia Esquivel and Janet Braun. The program was a journey through the Americas, bringing the Western Hemisphere to life through song, dance and drama. Parents, teachers and children participated in a lively, colorful and humorous exploration of North, Central and South America.

 

The program brought geography, social studies and history to life using Andean, Mayan, reggae, rock n' roll, calypso, rap and blues melodies. Las Tres Américas was selected to perform throughout Maryland elementary schools for two years.
